Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Definitive QR Code (referred to as "the Application") handles your personal data. The Application is developed by Fabrizio Chimienti as a free application with advertising support. This service is provided at no cost and is intended for use as is.
1. Information Collection and Use
The Application is designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to external servers. All information generated or processed by the Application remains strictly on your device.
Camera Access
The Application requires access to your device's camera to scan QR codes and recognize text. The camera feed is processed entirely in real-time on your local device. No video frames, photographs, or scanned content are uploaded or shared with us or any third parties.
Photo Library Access
The Application requests access to your photo library to:
- Save generated QR codes directly to your device's photos.
- Import existing images or logos to embed into your custom QR codes.
This access is handled locally on your device. We do not transfer or store your photos on external servers.
Location Data
If you grant location permissions, the Application can attach geographical coordinates to your scanned QR code history so that you can remember where a code was scanned. This location data is stored strictly within the local database on your device and is never sent to us or any third party.
2. Local Data Storage
All scanned QR codes, generated QR codes, and application settings are stored locally on your device using Apple's Core Data and shared app container storage. You have full control over this data and can delete individual entries or clear the entire history at any time from within the Application settings. Uninstalling the Application will also permanently delete all locally stored data.
3. Advertising and Third-Party Services
The Application integrates Google AdMob, an advertising service provided by Google LLC. To display ads, AdMob may collect and process device identifiers, general location data (derived from IP addresses), and diagnostic information. This data is used to serve relevant advertisements, prevent fraud, and compile aggregate app statistics.
With your explicit consent via the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework on iOS, Google AdMob may track your activity across apps and websites to deliver personalized advertisements. You can manage or revoke this tracking permission at any time in your iOS system settings under Settings > Privacy > Tracking.
4. Security
We value your trust in using our Application and are committed to protecting it. Although all data is stored locally, we recommend securing your device with a passcode, Touch ID, or Face ID to prevent unauthorized access to your information.
5. Children's Privacy
Since the Application does not collect or transmit personal data, we do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13. Parents can rest assured that their children's data remains private and confined to the device.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. Any updates will be published here with the revised modification date.
